RBR Earthworks crew hand-setting a stone drainage channel beside stone steps on a sloped NEPA property
RBR Earthworks · Northeastern PA

Your yard holds water. We find out why.

Wet yard drainage, French drains and regrading. Bruce comes out, looks at it himself, and tells you what it actually needs.

Why it is happening

Water does not pool for no reason

There are only so many causes, and they are all fixable from the outside. Finding the right one is the job — everything after that is dirt and stone.

01

The ground runs the wrong way

Grade falls toward the house or into a low spot instead of away from it.

02

Roof water has nowhere to go

Downspouts dumping at the foundation, or a buried line that silted up years ago.

03

Clay under the topsoil

Common across NEPA. Water sits on it instead of soaking through.

04

Runoff from uphill

A neighbour's yard, a road, or a hillside sending water across your property.

How the work goes

Four steps, in this order

1

Walk it after rain

Where the water stands, where it comes from, where it can go. Half an hour, no charge.

2

Cut the line

Trench dug to a real fall — not a shallow scratch that silts up in two winters.

3

Fabric, stone, pipe, cleanout

Filter fabric so the stone stays clean, washed stone around perforated pipe, and a cleanout you can actually flush.

4

Put the yard back

Backfilled, regraded, topsoil and seed. You should be able to tell we were there only because the water is gone.

Worth saying plainly

What we do not do

RBR is an exterior drainage and excavation contractor. We do not do basement waterproofing, interior drain tile, sump pumps, crawlspace work or structural foundation repair.

What we do is fix the reason water is showing up in the first place. On most NEPA properties that is the whole problem — and it costs a fraction of an interior system. If it turns out you need interior work, we will say so on the estimate.

Who is actually doing the work

The same crew sets water mains under township roads and rebuilds bridge culverts. A wet yard is a small job for us — which is why it gets done right the first time.
