Downspout lines, regrading and exterior perimeter drains. We stop water reaching the house instead of managing it once it is already inside.
Almost every wet foundation in NEPA has an outside cause. Roof water dumping at the corner of the house. Ground that has settled and now falls toward the wall instead of away from it. An old drain line that silted up and nobody knew.
Those are the things we fix. Dig it, drain it, pitch it away, put the ground back.
We are an exterior contractor. We do not install sump pumps, interior drain tile, basement waterproofing membranes or crawlspace systems, and we do not do structural foundation repair. If your problem turns out to need any of that, we will tell you on the estimate instead of selling you something else.
Downspouts tied into solid pipe and carried well clear of the house, to daylight where the grade allows.
The first ten feet out from the wall are what matter. Settled backfill gets cut, filled and graded to fall away.
Excavate to the footer, perforated pipe in washed stone wrapped in filter fabric, backfilled properly.
A drain that ends nowhere is a hole full of water. We find the outlet before we dig the trench.
A basement waterproofing company sells an interior system. That is what they do, so that is what gets quoted. It is worth understanding the difference before you sign anything.
Not every case is solvable from outside. Where there is a structural crack or a genuine hydrostatic problem, an interior system may be the right answer — and we will say so. But on most NEPA properties the water has an outside cause, and fixing the cause is cheaper than managing the symptom forever.
Backfilled, regraded, topsoil and seed. The point of doing it right is that in a year the only evidence is a dry wall.
